Humiliate a human being, To - is to offend God

To reject a human being, to scorn them and humiliate them, is to say that he or she is not a creature of God, and no one has the right to say such a thing. No one has the right to come between a human being and their heavenly Father. If someone wilfully cuts themselves off from divine love, they are obviously at liberty to do so, but no one else has the right to cut them off. Even the humblest people, the most scorned, the guiltiest, are sons and daughters of God. He has placed a spark in them, which is their spirit, a part of himself; it is the presence of this spark that makes them a part of his divine nature. If they make mistakes, they deserve of course to be not only reprimanded but punished. But even though they have to be treated severely and kept apart, we should never forget that deeply buried somewhere within them is a divine seed, which must be respected and nurtured. God himself feels offended when his children are subjected to humiliation.
