Identify with light and love so as not to lose them - You can never lose what you truly possess

You can never lose what you truly possess. You can only lose what does not really belong to you, what has not yet fully become a part of you. It happens that at one moment you believe and at the next you doubt, at one moment you are in the light and a moment later you are in darkness, at one moment you love and then your love vanishes. This means that neither faith nor light nor love belong to you. It is you yourself who have to become faith, light and love. When Jesus said, ‘I am the light of the world’, he identified with light. He did not say that the light was in him or with him – he said that he was the light. Meditate on the important lesson contained in these words.
