The Lord does not punish us, He is all love - Many religions portray the Lord as an implacable

Many religions portray the Lord as an implacable, vindictive, jealous being who sees everything, punishes everything and forgives nothing. The truth is that the Lord never punishes anyone. He does not even want to see our faults. But he has built the world according to certain laws and if we do not obey those laws, it is they that punish us, not God. He has no time to bother about that; He is all love and He dwells only in splendour. Suppose you have done something stupid: you are troubled about it and so you pray. Thanks to your prayer, you sense that you have escaped from your torment and you continue to rise until you reach the throne of God. Even if you are dusty and in rags God says to you, ‘Come in and be welcome’ and He will order his servants to wash you and give you new clothes. He will invite you to His feast and you will be happy and at peace. But that peace and happiness do not last. When you go back to earth (because of course you have to go back down, you are not able to remain up there for very long), the torment begins all over again… And it will continue until you understand that you must correct your mistakes and make amends for the wrong you have done. But it is not the Lord who comes and punishes you; He has far better things to do!
