Habits - we need to work on them in order to transform ourselves

How often have you decided to improve yourself, to change your life! But each time you fall back into the same weaknesses, which needless to say upsets you. As a matter of fact, the only way to correct our faults is by working on our bad habits, in other words by introducing other impressions, other clichés, at the right moment. In order to do so, we must be extremely vigilant or, swept along by the current of daily life, we forget, and the old habit, the old cliché reappears, ever faithful. The Scriptures say: ‘Keep alert. Like a roaring lion your adversary the devil prowls around, seeking someone to devour.’ This vigilance is precisely the secret for change. From now on, you must learn to stop momentarily the flow of thoughts, feelings and actions you give way to automatically, and then consciously and profoundly imprint within yourself clichés of the new life which comes from the realms of heaven.
