Spiritual life - an ascent that must be pursued to the end

Now that you have set foot on the divine path, you must keep walking it tirelessly. The obstacles ahead disperse, one by one, when you keep going, for you will have set the powerful laws of life in motion. The spiritual life is like climbing a high mountain. The paths are so rough and steep, it is impossible for you not to experience moments of weakness and discouragement or not to fall, but this is no reason to stop. For a few days you may feel you are dying… but you will return to life! In the depths of despondency you must cling to the mysterious glimmer that still remains within, telling you that the ‘death’ you are suffering will be followed by a resurrection and that no one can help you better than yourself, for all of life’s powers are within you.
