You follow a spiritual teaching and find the philosophy wonderful. Yes, but as long as you hesitate to put it into practice you will not understand it. If you are really nurturing the right thoughts in yourself, you will feel the need for your activities to match them. If you don’t do this, it means you’re not really very convinced. You shouldn’t pretend. As long as you do not make what you know a reality, it means something is missing from your knowledge. It’s harmful to keep up the illusion with humans that there’s nothing particularly shocking about not matching one’s actions to one’s thoughts. This is why a true initiatic teaching is concerned with all of a human being’s faculties, all of their needs and the different activities that correspond to them. Initiation concerns the whole person: not just one’s psychic activities but one’s physical activities, too: how to eat, sleep, wash, walk, work…
