In the language of symbols, the circle with the central point represents the universe sustained and animated by cosmic spirit. Between this central point, which is spirit, and the periphery, which is matter, continuous exchanges take place, and it is these exchanges that produce life. Matter is the receptacle for all riches, but it is spirit that animates it, works on it and organizes it so that all the possibilities it contains can manifest. When the circle is without its central point, it becomes the image of chaos. This law can also be understood in our inner life. The worst thing a human being can do is cut the link with his or her centre, or spirit, and become nothing but a circle: unorganized matter, an arid land, a desert. In order to become an organized world, fertile land, we must always link ourselves to the central point, the spirit.
