How should we interpret Jesus’ words: ‘Ask, and it will be given to you’? They assert the fact that praying, wishing and being insistent give us the power to effect certain changes, at least in our consciousness. We cannot perhaps change our outer circumstances, but when faced with them we can change our inner attitude to them, and we can alter our way of seeing and feeling so we no longer feel as afflicted and crushed by them. Our greatest powers are not found on the physical plane but on the psychic plane. How many people with real reason to feel sorrow and despair have managed to find peace, light and freedom through prayer! And what about you? How many negative states of consciousness you could transform thanks to the ability God granted every creature to ask and pray!
