Sometimes you meet quite ordinary people who claim to be …

Sometimes you meet quite ordinary people who claim to be entrusted with some grand mission. They don’t possess any special ability or gift, but they are convinced heaven has chosen them to put the world back to rights or bring about a new religion. You wonder what put such ideas into their head. Of course, we were all given a mission when we came to earth. But it remains for us to find out what it is. ‘What mission?’ you’ll ask. To develop all the seeds of qualities and virtues heaven has deposited within us. And this is quite a task in itself! How long will it be, how many centuries, how many thousands of years, before we succeed in uncovering and bringing forth all the riches we carry within us! Now, heaven may well choose a being for some particular mission. But the collective mission for humans is to develop little by little until they reach perfection. However puny and unimpressive they may be, they do have a mission to fulfil: to work, to better themselves and to evolve.
