A passage from the Zohar, the Book of Splendor, the …

A passage from the Zohar, the Book of Splendor, the principal text of the Cabbalah, describes God as a very beautiful and noble head with a beard and long white hair. The reflection of this white head in a pool of water appears as a scowling black head. What does this picture teach us? That what we call evil - the devil - is only a reflection of God, the shadow of God in matter. That is why, when some religions present the devil as an adversary of God or as an opponent against which God must constantly struggle, they are mistaken. God does not fight against the devil - that would be to fight himself.
So, keep in mind the picture of the white head, knowing that its dark reflection cannot really be an enemy since it is not a reality but an illusion, a shadow, which exists thanks to the light and which, by existing, proves the reality of this light. So, how do we come out of this region of reflection and illusions? By rising, through thought, to the white head of God. When we accept the reality of this unique principle, no contradiction subsists.
