Although reality is made up of an infinite number of disparate elements, they are all meant to participate in the same construction, the same cosmic plan. Those who are content simply to accumulate knowledge on all sorts of subjects may be proud of their well-stocked intellects, but this will not enable them to evolve and contribute to the evolution of humanity. People feel the need to scatter their energy, but this is a trap. If they agree to follow the teaching of the initiates, however, they will go very far with very little knowledge. Once the notion of building an edifice is fixed forever in their mind – an inner edifice as well as a collective edifice – this idea will vivify them, enlighten them, resurrect them. Of course there are some people who become wellsprings of knowledge and yet never lose their direction. More power to them! But if they lose sight of their mission – the construction of an edifice – no matter how their fellow humans may regard and esteem them, in heaven’s eyes they have burdened their heart and mind with quantities of useless material.
