Rebellion is a powerful instinct, essential to human survival, but people still have not really understood its role: where, when, how and against whom they should rebel. Before rebelling against others, which is often pointless, true disciples learn to rebel against themselves, against all the dark entities they have allowed to take up residence within them in the form of weaknesses which sap their strength and gnaw away at them. When they rebel in this way, everything changes. You will say: ‘But if I don’t stand up to people who abuse me, they will keep doing it.’ In fact, if you want them to change their behaviour, you must not fight them: they will change when they sense that you yourself have changed, that you have become wiser, more intelligent and more radiant, because you have succeeded at last in attracting luminous entities to yourself. When you rebel against yourself, you triumph over others by transforming them.
