Before a building can be said to exist, it has to be built; …

Before a building can be said to exist, it has to be built; we must be able to see it. But really, its true creator is the architect, the person who drew up the plans for it. Even if the building is not yet visible and tangible, it’s already been created in someone’s head. Now all that remains is to build it, in other words to bring it into form with the use of different materials. Formation is always preceded by creation, which takes place high above in the world of ideas, sometimes instantaneously. God created the world in an instant. It was the formation that took time; with formation time appeared. That is why we speak of the six days of creation. These six days are symbolic, of course; they represent the time it took for formation. Creation is instantaneous; it belongs to eternity.
