One person, on being given a half-filled glass, will say …

One person, on being given a half-filled glass, will say it’s half full, while another will say it’s half empty. Objectively, it amounts to the same thing, but for a psychologist this reveals two different sorts of mentality. If you focus on what is full, you blossom. If you focus on what is empty, you injure yourself. This is a law of magic. When invalids think only of their illnesses, their state worsens, because each negative thought leads to disintegration. But if they think of health they will immediately feel an improvement. Of course, many things are lacking in your life. And if you want to be deprived of even more things, think about deprivation and emptiness… But think that you are a son or daughter of God, and so much will improve as a result! What humans really lack are not favourable material conditions so much as a luminous, divine philosophy, the only thing that’s capable of freeing them from their weaknesses and limitations.
