Those who claim it is possible to become an initiate or a master in a few months, or even in a few years, are not only fooling themselves but fooling others as well. Knowledge of a few spiritual practices does not make one a master capable of instructing disciples. To be able to guide others on the spiritual path, you must study and practise for a very long time, or you will be courting disaster both for yourself and for others. Of course, whatever level you have attained, you can communicate what you know. But you must never teach what you do not already know and are not able to achieve. When the blind leads the blind, they all go over the precipice together, as we have often observed. So do not delude yourself; the path of initiation is very long and very difficult.
