Nothing is more beautiful than love, but too often, …

Nothing is more beautiful than love, but too often, instinctive and passionate elements become mixed up in it and prevent the manifestation of its true nature. Observe animals when they are born: a puppy, a calf, or a kid goat are not very clean, so their mother washes them. And a baby is also bathed when it is born. Well, the same thing applies to love: love is a child, a divine child, because whatever form it takes, God is present. Even the most selfish love, the lowest and most sensual form of love, contains a divine quintessence. If it is unrecognisable, it is because it is enveloped in coarse, impure elements from the swamps through which the human heart has passed. But if you purify, strengthen, and liberate it, you will come to recognise true love.
