If we know how to fortify ourselves and further our understanding of things, a misfortune that would strike others down or destroy them would actually make us stronger, hardier and nobler. So, we must not seek to eliminate evil, but to strengthen ourselves to withstand it. What do we do to protect ourselves from the rain, snow and storms? Do we go outside and command the forces of nature to calm down? Perhaps it is like that in fairy tales, but in everyday life we work on our house, we reinforce it, we check the insulation, we install good heating. When the job is done, we are at peace. So why not do the same thing? Why struggle to fight against evil instead of just becoming stronger and more resilient, so that we can understand better and act more effectively?
