What do people usually mean when they speak of miracles? Phenomena which defy or negate the laws of nature? Well, no such phenomena exist; everything obeys the laws of nature. And if people speak of miracles, it is because they do not know the laws that would explain them. There are certain phenomena that are exceptional because the people capable of producing them are very rare, but miracles, as most believers imagine them, simply do not exist. Even things that are truly extraordinary are natural; nothing is 'supernatural'. But it is important to understand that the gradations in nature are infinite, from the most material to the most subtle. The laws of the psychic and spiritual worlds which explain 'miracles' are therefore also the laws of nature. We must simply know on what plane they operate.
