It goes without saying that animals possess a form of …

It goes without saying that animals possess a form of intelligence. But what differentiates human beings from animals is the human intellect, which allows human beings to observe, compare, judge, and decide if they want to go in one direction or another. The human intellect therefore places human beings at the frontier between the lower world and the higher world: above the intellect, which corresponds to the mental plane, stretches the divine world, and below is the infernal world. Knowing this, human beings must understand they have a vital role to play in the universe. They determine whether it is the doors of heaven or hell which open up. Indeed, because they are placed at the edge of both worlds through their intellect, it is they, through their understanding of things, through their attitudes, who determine events and who determine whether hell or heaven pours out on to earth. Just as the sun is the door of the divine forces in the solar system, human beings are the door of the solar forces on earth. So it is clear that human beings have a vital role to play in the universe.
