Earthly life - is given us so we can do a work

How many people cling to life and will even commit murder in order to survive! This is because they are unaware that life does not end with their earthly existence, and so they incur heavy debts they will one day have to pay. Disciples of an initiatic school have a different attitude. They say, ‘Life on earth is beautiful, but it is often a trial too; we are limited by it, crushed, scorned, assaulted, tormented. I know it is like this for a reason, and I accept it. But one day, when I have fulfilled my task, I will leave to live a free life in space.’ This is the truth known by those who live a truly spiritual life, and it is why, even if they know they would be happier in the other world, they remain on earth, because for the time being their place is still here. So long as they have not put everything in order, nothing else matters to them. Their one wish is to complete their work. But when the time comes and their work is finished, they leave with no regrets.
