Woman’s vocation is to be the educator of man. By her thoughts, feelings and her attitude she can encourage him to accomplish the noblest of acts. Man asks only to be uplifted and inspired by her. That is why, as long as women do not have this ideal, as long as they think only of their desires and pleasures, they will not fulfil their true vocation. You will say, ‘But woman is so much weaker and more delicate than man! How can she oppose him?’ She does not need to oppose him. Certain attitudes, certain forms of expression are more effective than all the words and gestures you could make. And woman has another means of educating man: by educating her sons, and these sons will respect women all their life because of their mother. Yes, through the daily influence they can have over their sons, mothers are capable of creating upright, noble and generous characters.
