Temptations - have warning signs that we have to learn to interpret

Each human being has at least one weakness, if not several – it would take too long to list them all – and there is no lack of possibilities for succumbing to temptation: it is all there, ready to awaken gluttony, sensuality, frivolity, the lure of gain, aggression… Anyone who wants to conquer their weaknesses must watch for the tell-tale signs that temptation is on the way. They will find that these signs are always the same and act as warnings. They must question themselves to find out at what point they succumbed and what the signs were that temptation had begun to worm its way into them – a movement of impatience, perhaps, a sensation in the solar plexus, a passing thought, an image that came, and so on. There are always warning signs that temptation is near. They differ according to the person, so it is up to you to become aware of them. When you eventually find out what these warning signs are, you will be able to master the situation, for when they arrive you will know you have to increase your vigilance.
