If people agreed to develop their inner potential more fully, not only would they have less need to plunder the planet’s resources but they would sense that their inner, spiritual riches, unlike their material riches, were infinite and inexhaustible. Everywhere we hear complaints that people are becoming increasingly coarse and materialistic. And what is extraordinary is that even the materialists are complaining! Why? Because for them it is always others who are coarse, egotistical and grasping. Yes, it is extraordinary how many people fail to realize that they themselves are inhabited by the same materialistic tendencies they point out in others. If these self-proclaimed spiritualists were to analyse themselves a little more carefully, they would discover that they too expect more satisfaction from the outer world than from the world within them.
