From time to time, stop, close your eyes, go within …

From time to time, stop, close your eyes, go within yourself and try to find the divine centre that is the pure source of life. Opening and closing the eyes is one of the acts of daily life we perform most frequently, but because people do it unconsciously they don’t learn anything from it. With this exercise, you must now learn to do it consciously. Close your eyes slowly, and keep them closed for a moment… Then slowly open them again, and study the changes this produces in you. Little by little you will come to understand what opening and closing the eyes corresponds to in the inner life: when you open your eyes, you move toward the outer world, toward animation and sound. When you close your eyes, you return to the centre of your being where there is peace and silence. When you succeed in contacting this centre within you, you will feel currents flood through you, bringing balance, harmony and light.
