So many artists have ended their lives discouraged and broken, because the public has not accepted or recognized them! In general, they do not have great psychic resistance. Rare are those who in the midst of their ordeals have demonstrated the courage that is the mark of the greatest spirits. People sometimes ask: ‘But why do the Lords of Destiny treat those who are the most remarkable, the most noble, so harshly?’ So that these beings may have the opportunity to surpass themselves and give the best of themselves. If they were surrounded by people who applauded them, flattered them and made everything easy for them, they would be lulled to sleep. They would become weak, dull and incapable of producing works that were as profound, as great. Destiny is a terrible teacher, but you must understand and accept that it acts as it does so that human beings may become true creators.
