Why does the church maintain Christians in their illusions …

Why does the church maintain Christians in their illusions with promises that will never be realized? They are ill, weak and poor, both physically and spiritually… But never mind, the church consoles them by telling them, ‘Don’t worry, you’re just going through a rough time; the earth is a vale of tears, but when you leave it you will be received in the Lord’s tabernacles.’ But, no, that’s not how it will happen, for they have done nothing to receive such a grace so easily and quickly. Why does the church deceive people? It should say instead, ‘You lazy individual, you’ll have to sort this out by yourself! If your conditions are so bad, you must deserve them. But whatever your conditions, not only can you work on yourself every day, you can also help others.’ But instead of this, they reassure them and say, ‘That’s how things are here, but on the other side you will live in splendour and abundance.’ The reality is the other side will be the same, or even worse, if they haven’t done any real spiritual work.
