The hearts and minds of human beings always show extraordinary ingenuity when it comes to presenting things as they wish to see them, thus keeping people prisoners of their desires and appetites! The mind is always ready to aid and abet the heart by providing arguments to back up its desires. This is why intellectuals - may they forgive me for saying this - however intelligent and capable they may be in certain areas, are often the ones who make the most mistakes. You will protest that they are intelligent. Yes, but unfortunately this kind of intelligence does not protect them from error, because it lacks one essential factor: the intuition, which enables one to grasp the reality behind appearances. Renowned scientists or eminent philosophers can still make stupid mistakes simply because they have never made the effort to rise above the astral and mental planes to reach the causal plane.
